The 2012 Shapiro Essay Revision Contest, sponsored by University of Toledo’s Composition Program has been announced. Open to all undergraduate students, willing to invest one to two hours revising a short essay to compete for one of 15 cash awards from $75 to $500. A minimum of three prizes will go to freshmen writers and a minimum of three to sophomores. The contest requires participants to revise a short essay. The essay will be provided at six sites and times across campus during the last week of February. Pens, dictionary, or thesaurus are allowed, but no laptops or other resources.
