Hard Science Linguistics looks at humor Hard Science Linguistics looks at humor This paper begins a study of the linguistics of humor. Humor is a communicative behavior designed to provoke laughter which is also seen as a form of communicative behavior. Humor relies very heavil on expectations. The expectations of both the comedian and audience are different and are based on their orthoconcepts. A second article on humor is in process.
